Everthing seems to happen at such a fast pace these days. Time has a way of racing by and leaving little evidence it’s been there. There are meals in a can, box, freezer and bag…no time to cook. We can get a suntan from a bottle and instant movies on the internet…no time to wait. What we don’t have on hand, we can get…instantly.
Take a look at nature. How long does it take a tree to grow? A flower to bloom? Crops to be ready for harvest? A child to be born? Things life giving and life sustaining require a slower pace.
Back in the 70’s, a group named Parable wrote a song titled “Song for the Church”. One of the lines is…
Take the time to read
Jesus took the time to bleed…for our sins.
Still timely advice, yes?
Psalms 46:10(NKJV) Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Hebrews 4:11(AMP) Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell].
Lamentations 3:25(AMP) The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him [inquire of and for Him and require Him by right of necessity and on the authority of God’s word].
Remember…Allow His savor to flavor your day.
