Betrayal leaves behind a barren landscape.

We’ve all read about it…Delilah betrayed Samson, David betrayed Uriah, Judas betrayed Jesus. We’ve seen it in movies, listened about it in music, watched it in plays. And most will experience it, in one form or another, at some point in their lives.

Betrayal is a wicked device, a WMD to the heart, causing businesses to collapse, marriages fail, families to implode and friendships to dissolve. The fallout for everyone around is devastating.

When a business owner is betrayed, it effects not just the owner but the employees and the families of the employees. When a spouse is betrayed it brings suffering to the children, friends, and other family members. When a friend is betrayed, the bond of future friendships is not so easily formed.

Psalms 55:12-14(AMP) For it is not an enemy who reproaches and taunts me—then I might bear it; nor is it one who has hated me who insolently vaunts himself against me—then I might hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, my companion and my familiar friend. We had sweet fellowship together and used to walk to the house of God in company.

God does not look kindly on the betrayer.

Isaiah 30:1(MSG) 30 1-5 “Doom, rebel children!” God’s Decree. “You make plans, but not mine. You make deals, but not in my Spirit. You pile sin on sin, one sin on top of another,

Isaiah 33:1(MSG) Doom to you, Destroyer, not yet destroyed; And doom to you, Betrayer, not yet betrayed. When you finish destroying, your turn will come—destroyed! When you quit betraying, your turn will come—betrayed!

If you’ve been betrayed, seek Gods face for your source of healing.

Isaiah 23:3-4(AMP) You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

It is not something that is easily overcome however, if you keep your eyes on Him, as in nature itself, your trust and joy will be restored.

Psalms 71:20(ESV) You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.

What do your thoughts and actions reveal about you? Are you seeking the heart of God? Are you the apple of His eye? When the race is finished, will He look at you and say “Well done My good and faithful servant”?

Remember…Sin is never solitary.

In Him,
